Up until 2023/2024 inclusive, schoolchildren in Rhineland-Palatinate had five fixed holiday periods. From the 2024/2025 school year onwards, the state will have four fixed holiday periods and so-called flexible holidays:

IMPORTANT! The school holidays for Pentecost have been cancelled, but Pentecost Monday remains a legal holiday. To compensate for the school time, the Easter holidays in Rhineland-Palatinate have been extended by one week starting in the 2024-2025 school year.
School holidays in Rhineland-Palatinate are not the only time for a break from lessons. Children also have a break on all legal holidays. There are 11 such days during the school year.
