When Brandenburg schoolchildren take a break from school

Students in Brandenburg have six school holidays during the school year. This list details all school holidays in Brandenburg (the names correspond to the official ones):

IMPORTANT! The school holiday dates listed below are not mandatory for substitute schools (Ersatzschulen), supplementary schools (Ergänzungsschulen), and international schools. These include most Waldorf schools and private gymnasiums. International schools may have the most significant deviations from the official school year schedule.

In addition to school holidays, children in Brandenburg have a break from school on all public holidays. There are 10 such days during the school year. Depending on the year, about half of them fall during school holidays. Schools are closed on the remaining holidays.

In addition to public (legal) holidays, the Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sports establishes “bridge days.” These are additional days without classes, introduced separately for each year.
