When Brandenburg schoolchildren take a break from studying
Pupils at schools in Brandenburg State have six holiday periods throughout the school year. In this list we list all school holidays in Brandenburg (the names correspond to the officially accepted ones):

In addition to school holidays, children in Brandenburg take a break from school on all public holidays. There are 10 such days throughout the school year. Depending on the year, about half of them fall during the holiday periods. On other holidays, schools are closed.
In addition to public (legal) holidays, the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports establishes “bridge days”. These are additional days without classes, which are entered separately for each year. Bridge day is usually Monday or Friday. It is declared if a public holiday falls on Tuesday or Thursday. Due to the additional non-school day, schoolchildren will be able to rest for four days in a row.
For example: in 2025, Labor Day falls on Thursday. So that children can rest for four days, Friday May 2, 2025 is declared a bridge day (bridge). On this date, all schools are closed to teachers and students.
