When children take a break from school in Saxony-Anhalt
During the school year, schoolchildren in the federal state of Saxony-Anhalt have five or six holiday periods. In some years there are long weekends. Schools are closed for the following holiday periods:
- Autumn vacation.
- Christmas Holidays.
- The winter vacation.
- Easter holidays.
- Pentecost holidays (optional).
- Summer school holidays.
Important! Pentecost holidays do not happen every year. The decision to cancel them is made by the Ministry of Education of this country. Therefore, if they are not on the list of school holidays in Saxony-Anhalt, then they will not happen for official reasons.
In addition to school holidays, children have a break from school on state legal holidays. If such a holiday falls on a Tuesday or Thursday, a “bridge day” may be introduced on Monday or Friday. This is done so that schoolchildren have four days off in a row. In this article, we indicate such days after the list of school holidays.
There are no areas with special geographical or climatic conditions in the federal state of Saxony-Anhalt. Therefore, the following school holiday and public holiday dates must be observed by all schools, regardless of location.
