Summer holidays in Bavaria 2025-2030

IMPORTANT! The following are the dates for the summer holidays in Bavarian schools according to the notification of the Bavarian Ministry of Education and Culture dated 7 December 2022. The actual length of the summer holiday may be longer due to Saturday and Sunday. This is usually two days before the start date of the summer break.

Summer holidays in Bavaria 2025 are from Friday, August 1st to Monday, September 15th, 2025.
Summer holidays in Bavaria 2026 are from Monday, August 3rd to Monday, September 14th, 2026.
Summer holidays in Bavaria 2027 are from Monday, August 2nd to Monday, September 13th, 2027.
Summer holidays in Bavaria 2028 are from Monday, July 31st to Monday, September 11th, 2028.
Summer holidays in Bavaria 2029 are from Monday, July 30 to Monday, September 10, 2029.
Summer holidays in Bavaria 2030 – from Monday, July 29 to Monday, September 9, 2030.

Possible changes in the school year schedule

Below is a list of possible exceptions to the rules set by the Bavarian government. If you or your child attends a vocational school, vocational school or boarding school, please check the summer holiday schedule at your school!

#1 Vocational schools may deviate from the school year schedule by two days. If the school is affiliated with a vocational school, these changes apply to its school year schedule.

#2 Boarding schools (public and private) may request up to six additional days off. These days may be combined with the days described above.

#3 The Ministry of Education and Culture may approve or issue an order for deviation from the general schedule for each school. But there must be good reasons for this.
